It’s a Hell of a Town

Today ends my third week in New York City. It’s been a whirlwind, but not always in the ways I expected. But I supposed I’ve never moved across the country before, so it’s not entirely surprising that I couldn’t predict what I would feel or what kind of things I would be up to.

Mostly, it seems like I’ve been working, shopping, or eating at restaurants. There have been some highlights – turning 29 in Astoria, finding a great apartment with cool roommates, spending time with my boyfriend and knowing one of us doesn’t have to fly away at the end of the week, bonding with my goddaughter – and not too many lowlights. Well……. there has been the weather. Snowy day after snowy day and lots of locals telling me, “It’s hardly EVER like this! I promise!”
