Summer is so sweet. I just spent the evening with some local friends, feasting on beautifully crafted artisan pizzas from a new joint here in town, The Flying Goat*, and then moving on to The Elk for drinks and dessert. It crept up close to 95 degrees today in Spokane, outrageously hot, but nice and dry like I like it. Too hot to sit outside for dinner, but comfortably roasty for drinks outside after. Luckily, my bedroom has air conditioning.

*I chose a pizza that had “Zoe’s prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, plum tomato sauce and topped with arugula salad,” and our table had a classic margherita and another pie with “Chevre goat cheese, toasted pine nuts, fresh herbs, oven roasted tomatoes, roasted red peppers and extra virgin olive oil.” Amazing. Delicious.
